Continuation of my series ‘To Hold and Be Held’
The forms are coil-built and wood fired. They are inspired by seeds, pods, eggs, cell division - things that capture a moment of growth or transition.
As I develop this body of work I’m playing with scale - the first pieces were the pods I made for Body / Earth, which were solid forms of a size to be held in the palm. The works shown here range from 6-9” scale to 12-20” scale, but they still beg to be held and felt by the hand and the body. It has been an interesting process to watch the larger scale work unfold and notice which forms I am drawn to the most.
